Battle of Flowers Parade

Thursday 13 August · 14:00 – 17:00 · Victoria Avenue, St Helier · From £18

Battle of Flowers has run since 1902 and remains the loudest, brightest day in the Jersey calendar. Parish teams spend the best part of a year building enormous floats, every inch of them covered in fresh and paper blooms, before rolling them down Victoria Avenue in front of tens of thousands of people.

Between the floats you'll find marching bands, dance troupes, majorettes and visiting performers from Guernsey and Normandy. Grandstand seats give the best view of the judging, but the free standing areas at either end of the route have the better atmosphere.

Arrive early, bring a hat and something to sit on, and stay for the Moonlight Parade in the evening when the same floats return lit up against the dark.
